2021 Oration by Minister Heather Humphreys T.D.

The 2021 Michael Collins Commemorative oration was delivered by Minister of Justice, Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands Heather Humphreys T.D. Annual Commemoration

Béal na Blá is one of the most famous sites in Irish history. It was here on 22 August 1922 that General Michael Collins, commander-in-chief of the Irish army was ambushed and killed. The annual commemoration takes place each year on the Sunday closest to August 22nd.
